Lettuce word originally derived from Roman word “lactuca sativa”, but the fun fact is that it was not originated in Rome, but in Egypt. Lettuce is a leafy vegetable. And you know what? There are several types of lettuce leaves such as Crisphead, Romaine, Butterhead, and Iceberg. This vegetable can be eaten raw as a salad, or you can either used as a food wrap. There are so many health benefits of lettuce leaf includes fighting inflammation, inducing sleep, keeps you hydrated, and many more. 

Benefits of Lettuce Leaf:


  • Lettuce has anti-inflammatory properties:

  • Inflammation in your body can cause many problems such as lower back pain, dental issues, migraines and many more. You can prevent all of these issues in your life with lettuce as a part of your daily diet. It contains biochemical catalysts, carrageen am, lipoxygenase that can control inflammation.

  • If you will eat a bowl of lettuce salad each day then it will keep you hydrated. It contains a large amount of potassium that can play a vital role in maintaining fluid balance. As for your information, potassium also promotes the transmission of electrical signals all over the body.
